Low MOQ is easiest when the project can use an existing qualified pouch-cell platform.

MOQ is not one fixed number for every LiPo battery. It changes with whether a suitable cell already exists, whether the cell itself must be customized, pack electronics and wiring, tooling, labels and packaging, validation, documentation and the manufacturer’s production lot constraints.

A practical low-volume route is to identify available cells that fit the electrical and mechanical envelope, build pack-level prototypes, validate them in the equipment, and define a realistic production forecast. A new custom cell geometry normally creates a different development and commercial path.

Practical procurement questions.

What is the minimum order quantity for a custom LiPo battery?

There is no universal MOQ. An existing cell with modest pack customization may support a lower starting quantity than a new custom cell, but the exact terms require a reviewed specification and forecast.

Can I order a few prototypes before production?

Often yes, when a feasible cell and pack route exists. Prototype, pilot and production quantities should be quoted separately.

Can any pouch size be made?

No. Geometry must be checked against available cells, manufacturability, safety margins, expansion allowance, loading and the commercial scale of a custom-cell program.
